چکیده
The aim of this work was to study an integrated approach for landfill leachate remediation comprising chemical precipitation with biomass bottom ash as a pre-treatment reduce color and turbidity followed by bioremediation through microalgae treatment effluent disposal. Optimal conditions were determined batch experiments found be 160 g L−1 dose, 96 h contact time, overhead agitation at 15 rpm particle size below 500 µm. These led removal efficiencies 74.3% oxygen demand 98.5% color. Large quantities sludge containing excess precipitated compounds formed during the pre-treatment. To minimize solid disposal, tested raw material cementitious aggregate substitute in mortar formulations. Following pre-treatment, inoculated six different species evaluate their ability grow such recalcitrant remediate it. After period 27 days concentration from 0.4 1.2 achieved microalgae. Removal range 18–62% COD, 63–71% N, 15–100% P. At end treatment, algal characterized regarding protein, lipid, fatty acids, carbohydrate, contents. This allows low-cost these effluents when compared present options that include inverse osmosis, valorization ash-rich precipitates improves sustainability overall process.

Treatment of mature landfill leachate by chemical precipitation and Fenton advanced oxidation process
Background: Mature landfill leachate is a complicated mixture which is resistant to biological treatment processes. The treatment of mature landfill leachate by struvite precipitation and Fenton oxidation was the main objective of the current research. Methods: Struvite with the phosphate/ammonia/magnesium molar ratio of 1/1/1.05 was considered during all experiments. Five initial pHs of 3, 4,...
متن کاملPretreatment of ammonium removal from landfill leachate by chemical precipitation.
Chemical precipitation is a useful technology to remove ammonium (NH(4)(+)) from landfill leachate. In this paper, the removal of ammonium from landfill leachate was studied. The objective of this study was to investigate optimum pH, optimum molar ratio, and different kinds of chemicals combinations for magnesium ammonium phosphate (MAP) precipitation. Furthermore, the kinetics of MAP formation...
متن کاملNitrogen Removal from Landfill Leachate by Microalgae
Landfill leachates result from the degradation of solid residues in sanitary landfills, thus presenting a high variability in terms of composition. Normally, these effluents are characterized by high ammoniacal-nitrogen (N-NH₄⁺) concentrations, high chemical oxygen demands and low phosphorus concentrations. The development of effective treatment strategies becomes difficult, posing a serious pr...
